Cartagena, Colombia, March 27th and 28th, 2006


On March 27th and 28th this year, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism of Colombia, and the Colombian Government Trade Bureau (Proexport Colombia) lead the first Agrobusiness Matchmaking Forum, in Cartagena, right in the Caribbean.   With the support of JETRO, we kindly invite you to join this business network event, which  brings together carefully selected Colombian exporters with International buyers which, over a period of two days, offer prearranged one-on-one matchmaking appointments.

Mr. Clinton takes a walk along the streets in Bogota

With the company of the President of Colombia, Alvaro Uribe, in demonstration of his confidence in Colombia and to support the social democratic model, the former president of the United States, Mr. William Jefferson Clinton, greeted to the street vendors and citizens in Bogota, during the walk they took in from the “Tequendama Hotel” to the “Gonzalo Jimenez de Quesada Convention Center”, located just in to downtown Bogota.

President Uribe visit Japan

A large group of Colombians living in Japan welcomed Mr. President Alvaro Uribe on April 10th, at the residence of Colombian Ambassador.

On Monday, April 11th, the President of Colombia attended private encounter with H.E Emperor Akihito. President Uribe gladly informed about improvements on security, economy, education, environment, social mobility and reduction of the poverty.

Some hours later, Mr. Uribe, Colombian President held meeting with Japanese Prime Minister, Junichiro Koizumi.

International disaster assistance to Tsunami the largest scale ever: 2.2 billion dollars and growing

In response to the devastation done by an earthquake off Sumatra in Indonesia and a massive tsunami along the coasts of countries in the Indian Ocean, emergency assistance announced as of yesterday from countries and international organizations had surpassed 2.2 billion dollars (approx. 226 billion yen).
